Foreign Minister Battsetseg Meets UN Under Secretary-General Rabab Fatima

Ulaanbaatar, April 23, 2024 /MONTSAME/. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia Battsetseg Batmunkh, who is chairing the 80th Session of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), met with UN Under Secretary-General and High Representative for the Least Developed, Landlocked Developing, and Small Island Developing States Rabab Fatima in Bangkok, Thailand, on April 22, 2024, to exchange views on cooperation.


At the meeting, Foreign Minister Battsetseg highlighted the active efforts of the High Representative’s office in resolving the challenges faced by countries with special needs in achieving sustainable development goals and expressed gratitude for the support provided to the activities of the International Think Tank for Landlocked Developing Countries, established in Ulaanbaatar at the initiative of Mongolia.



High Representative R. Fatima expressed gratitude to Mongolia for its active efforts to protect the rights and interests of the Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs), fulfilling its obligations to the international community. The High Representative expressed commitment to supporting the proposals and initiatives put forward by Mongolia.


As the Vice Chair of the Group of LLDCs, Mongolia is co-chairing the Preparatory Committee for the Third United Nations Conference on LLDCs and actively participating in the preparation of this high-level conference.
