President Frank-Walter Steinmeier: I am Optimistic About the Next 50 Years of Relations and Cooperation Development

Ulaanbaatar, February 7, 2024 /MONTSAME/. President of the Federal Republic of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier is paying a State Visit to Mongolia on February 7-8, 2024, at the invitation of President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa.


During the State Visit, President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa and Federal President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier held a press briefing after their official talks. President Steinmeier underscored the significance of dialogue, noting Mongolia's smart diplomacy amid the complexities of the current international landscape and critical geopolitics.


President Frank-Walter Steinmeier also noted that there are 35,000 German-speaking people in a country with a population of 3.5 million, which is a significant number, while also mentioning that thousands of Mongolian students are currently studying in Germany. Moreover, he articulated his steadfast commitment to advancing the "Strategic Partnership," fostering economic growth, enhancing trade and investment, introducing modern advanced technologies in infrastructure, mining, fuel, and energy sectors, and deepening relations and cooperation in culture, education, science, environment, and humanitarian sectors.


The two Heads of State further declared their commitment to collaboration, aligning Mongolia's peace-loving, independent, open, and multi-pillar foreign policy with Germany's efforts for global peace and security and sustainable policies against climate change. Both parties conveyed their confidence in the development of relations and cooperation in the next 50 years.
