Ermuun Becomes the First Mongolian Winter Swimming World Champion

Ulaanbaatar, March 14, 2024. /MONTSAME/. Mongolian athlete Ermuun Altantuya topped the podium at the "Winter Swimming World Championship – 2024" held in Tallinn, Estonia, on March 4-10, 2024. 


At the Winter Swimming World Championships, among over 1500 athletes from 40 countries, A. Ermuun, a nineteen-year-old athlete from the Bayangol District Water Sports Training Center, secured a gold medal in the 25-meter ice butterfly, a silver in the 25-meter freestyle, and a bronze in the 50-meter freestyle. He became the first Mongolian athlete to become the Winter Swimming World Champion.


Also, Munkh-Orgil Sodbayar claimed two silver medals in the 25- and 50-meter breaststroke, displaying his skills and speed and demonstrating his potential as a rising athlete.
